Now that Robbie Soave is out (congrats on the engagement!), he and Billy Binion should start a podcast for all of the Libertarian gays out there as that is a more robust audience than you'd expect.
Title pitches: "Reasonable Twinks", "Gadsden F*gs", "Atlas Claps Back", "Laissez Fairies", "FEE for Your Life!", "Size of Government Queens", "Giving Fountainhead", or "The Gayto Institute".
Moynihan's advice to hypothetical murderers--to "make it political"--ought to be called the Hamas defense. It may not work as well at trial as the Twinkie defense, but it sure is a winning strategy in the court of public opinion.
I really hope you and Moynihan are giving him appropriate shit for his multiple weeks in a row of technical difficulties, haha. Isn't he supposed to be the tech-literate one of the three of you?
All were right on in pointing out that catastrophe is not necessary to prove something wrong. This quote from Cowens Stubborn Attachments shocked me: “To make this concrete, here’s an experiment: redo U.S. history, but assume the country’s economy had grown one percentage point less each year between 1870 and 1990. In that scenario, the United States of 1990 would be no richer than the Mexico of 1990.” The catastrophe is slow and insidious and felt by your children’s children.
Fun fact - I’m one of those “never gonna happen, only used as a scare tactic” almost milk carton kids!
On the way home from school one day, some lady I never met before (so much for it being friends and relatives) drove by me, saying I have to come with her, my mom was hurt in the hospital. Thanks to being terrified by stranger danger stuff in schools, I knew better, shouted “no thanks” and took off.
When I told my parents they immediately called the cops, who came and took statements, and mentioned that a woman fitting the description had been reported before, trying to pick up kids.
Sooooo…is it rare that this happens? Probably! Impossible, and only ginned up to terrify parents? NOPE. 😂
My wife was one of those kids, too. It happened near a trailer park in the pine barrens, so... outside factors.
I contend that the boys are downplaying a real problem here. There's some credibility that cartels will capital T traffic young women across the border, it's not just 24-year-old dudes self-trafficking as Matt suggests. You can't sit in the Albuquerque airport without hearing an automated message informing victims of sex trafficking to call a government help line for immediate assistance, I'd like to know more about how that came to be.
Yeah...four guys sitting around chattering about how certain types of conservatives & conspiracy theorists could be seen as somewhat tone deaf. Speaking for myself only because I did for a decade plus investigated abuse and trafficking of children...it's a real thing & not "less happening now." It's happening daily all around us but too many people are oblivious to what's going on &/or rationalizing how it's okay. I agree with Moynihan that there's reasons why the alleged victims in the Epstein matter did not testify or were less than credible in some instances, doesn't negate that children are being trafficked. Most of us though are lucky enough to go through life and not be faced with this reality. For all the mommas and papas out there, be wise, be wary and don't make assumptions about who is safe and who is not safe.
Since Alan Dershowitz was mentioned several times in this episode, it’s probably worth noting that he made a cameo appearance during Haviv Retig Gur’s recent podcast conversation with Yardena Schwartz . (Spoiler alert- Dershowitz takes issue with Haviv and Yardena’s position regarding the importance of religion in the Middle East conflict) The conversation was about Yardena’s (in my opinion very important) book, Ghosts of a Holy War and was recorded in front of a live audience.
Also- I’m with Kmele in the sense that I’d like it if Sydney Sweeney had a slightly more dramatic hip to waist ratio. Not to objectify or anything. Just saying
Nancy Mace was one of the first women to enroll at The Citadel.
Unlike the focus of big press (Shannon Faulkner?), Rep. Mace graduated. Entirely possible the 40-something support there is real, very well-toned.
The Sydney Sweeney stuff just doesn’t interest me all that much. A. I’m old enough to be her dad, and B. Just nothing else that catches my gaze. Dunno. Kate Upton did get multiple gazes…..
Faulkner made it through 4 hours before punching out to the infirmary. Spent a few days in there then left. She was put in a nearly impossible situation by people with an agenda, and was ill-prepared. I happened to be there for it, sweating my ass off in the Charleston heat.
Nancy entered with the Class of 2000. Her dad was commandant. She had accumulated enough credits that she graduated with my class (‘99). Didn’t know her well but she came into a completely different situation than Shannon, just a year later (and post-VMI case), and was prepared.

You may have given this too much thought. NTTAWWT.
You can NEVER have too many thoughts about Libertarian twinks!
Those are all incredible names but Gadsden Fags is incredible work. Omg
Moynihan's advice to hypothetical murderers--to "make it political"--ought to be called the Hamas defense. It may not work as well at trial as the Twinkie defense, but it sure is a winning strategy in the court of public opinion.
Just an FYI. Around the 24:00 minute mark there's more strange chopped up voices talking like on last episode.
Oh, you mean that Kmele didn't learn from his tech lesson? So strange.
Let me guess: he’s using AI to clean up the audio.
I really hope you and Moynihan are giving him appropriate shit for his multiple weeks in a row of technical difficulties, haha. Isn't he supposed to be the tech-literate one of the three of you?
😼
I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to listen to this pod on LSD anymore.
Nobody likes a quitter
Towards the very end of the episode, there's about 30 seconds where it sounds like someone on the call is inside a wind tunnel.
Can a show be haunted by the ghosts of podcasts past?
Kmele needs a priest and a neckbeard from Apple tech support.
I feel like Moynihan is about a week away from advocating for Ghislaine Maxwell’s innocence.
Libertarian says scooter robbery barely a crime. Very on brand. Much love to soave and the lads
Oh man! So excited to hear from you gentlemen (and Moynihan) again 😍
I've had beverages
All this time, I had no idea Robbie was gay, I thought he was just hot.
Either way, congrats to him and his fiancé!

Moynihan's subtle reference to Raymond Carver with "What we talk about when we talk about Sydney Sweeney" just made my yearly Subscription worth it.
All of a sudden Robbie is super cool.
“Male Gays” or “Male Gaze”
“All of a sudden”? Robbie has always been the man. We just didn’t know how that manifested. Hehehe. Manifested.
Robby rocks goddamnit.

goddamn I love it when Moynihan tells me to either go "fuck myself"/"am retarded"/"amazingly dumb". Congrats for Robbie and his cute new fiance tho.
You know what…. White Girl Summer. Let ‘em cook!!!! 🥘

I’m in the same era; VA had the segregated military schools. (The VMI decision written by RBG….)
Top of the morning to ya's lads. IDK why I am saying that but I have nothing substantial yet.
The morning was top though! Spot on.
