Where do the TFC guys find these weirdos? A Marxist-heroin addict-freedom fighter turned podcaster? I mean, it's an interesting conversation but mostly because the guest is a train wreck of bad ideas and poor life choices.
The irony of a self avowed Marxist becoming popular, making money (then complaining about taxes on the interview Moynihan did with him before) but still sticks to the ideology illuminates the innate incoherence of Marx and his followers.
Goddamn good booking. We need more chaos agents. Also he definitely has a deeper reading of the Yarvinverse than most and can shed light on the troggs therein.
It’s pretty common for an interview podcast to give a brief introduction of the guest upfront. Also, when I’m driving, I can’t read the description and CarPlay often truncates the title.
Speaking as a person experiencing audio listening of this podcast, the guest's name is listed in the episode title and the episode description has more information about the guest. Additionally you learn a lot by listening to the podcast in its entirety. Hope this helps! 🙏
“We're joined by Brace Belden, co-host of the TrueAnon podcast.” Doesn’t tell me much since I’m not familiar with his podcast. The list of topics discussed in the description is appreciated but also doesn’t tell me anything about him. I’m an hour and 7 mins in and knowing he’s a Marxist, former heroin enjoyer, who fought in Syria would have been helpful to know at the beginning.
I'll add, a lot of times with the way various podcasts apps work, one podcast will auto-play after another episode is done, and therefore I haven't read the description before the show starts. So I'm driving 70mph in my car and I'm supposed to go find the email that has the description listed? Just a quick introduction at the beginning I don't think is too much to ask.
Don’t give them an out for the most basic requirement for having a guest centric podcast. I’m not checking my phone while I’m driving or busy doing something more important than googling info that should be easily given. It’s not a big ask
I just want to cut in with that Simpsons meme, “Stop! He’s already dead!” as Moynihan continues to maul this avowed Marxist who seems to know next to nothing about the countries claiming to exemplify Marxist ideology. Moynihan is fighting in a completely different weight class.
Just prior to listening to this episode, I heard the Daily for 12/04/2025 reporting on Trump’s comments about Somali immigrants and…well, just go listen to how NYT soft pedals the story. The state of MN -may- have had some problems overseeing “well-meaning” aid programs as they were systematically plundered for $1B+ primarily by people of Somali descent (80+ people currently indicted). In fact, some fear that fraud of this kind may be widespread within that community. How could that have happened?! It seems that after the killing of George Floyd (in this report, NYT referred to it as a “killing”) workers at different levels of state and local government who might have called attention to this epic fraud may have been dissuaded by fears they’d be called racist (for noticing, and pointing out, some odd patterns of behavior exhibited almost exclusively by members of a single ethnic group). To my ear, in this story, the Daily subtly implies that such fears are overblown. But the state of MN and the city of Minneapolis have systematically induced this fear among workers at all levels of MN governments over many years through overt and covert employment practices and through multivarious episodes of scapegoating on the one hand and turning-a-blind eye on the other. Now we are shocked, SHOCKED to find that hustlers took advantage of those practices.
I have a friend who lives in the Minneapolis area. He is a standard Democrat. I raised the issue with him and he poopooed it, saying that it happens everywhere, and it was just run of the mill corruption. Basically said it wasn't Walz' fault since he didn't know about it.
Im in minneapolis and just glad these scandals finally blew up. They were under-reported first time around. Of course, many people here will be more angry about trump’s language than the underlying fraud in the Somali community, and complete dissolution of social trust in MN the last 30 years.
Thank God for Moynihan, Being a 57 year old who lives in Los Angeles and is always the oldest guy on set few get my references anymore (Today I stated "Learning about Cuba and having some food"... No one in a room of 6 knew what I was talking about) But Moynihan not only just throws out the name of the genius Totie Fields but refers to the obscure Mike Douglas interview when she appeared with Gene Simmons in '74 when she's calls him out for his "Hook" under all the make up.. What next, Ace on Tom Snyder saying "Look at him, He's drunk, He's under the pillow he doesn't know anything"...
"Wouldn't it be funny if under all of this he was just a nice Jewish boy?" My brother was a huge KISS fan and I remember watching that interview. I always think of that line when l see Gene Simmons. 😆 I’m a few years younger than you, but I relate entirely to fewer people getting my Gen X references. The Fifth is a haven.
I worked with them during their reunion in 95 when Ace and Peter came back and our company handled all the sets etc.. for the photoshoots for the lead up to them announcing on the Grammys. I call it "My Summer With Gene" Great fun and a few times I wanted to bring it up but He was usually dressed in full Love Gun God Of Thunder era costume so I didn't dare. I instead would help Shannon hide from him so She could smoke out on the patio of our studio. She and Peter had the best stories.
That’s awesome! My story is nowhere near as cool, but I met Gene Simmons in 1989 (I think, maybe ‘90) when KISS did a show in my hometown of Cedar Rapids, IA. The day after the show, my brother’s friend is working a shift at Chuck E. Cheese and calls us to say Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed are there with their son (who was a toddler) and to get over asap. So we get there, I grab a cocktail napkin and ask Gene for his autograph. He asks me if I have a pen, which I don’t, and instead of looking for one, I brilliantly respond, “Uhhh…” He stares at me for a second and says, “Do you speak English?” 😆 Thankfully a kind lady loaned me a pen, probably because I was holding up the line, and that cocktail napkin has been in a scrap book ever since. I now always travel with a pen (just in case!) but I wonder if celebrities even sign autographs anymore. Anyway, that was my brush with Gene Simmons; just another dumb-looking teenage chick asking for his autograph. 😆
Oh I started listening to True Anon after he was on the Moynihan report. He’s so funny. Wrong but funny.

I love this guy. Just a good interview. One of my best friends is also a normie/communist and this weirdly gets our vibe.
Agreed, and taking a moment to consider how weird it is that the “normie/communist” term kind of resonates. Sign of the times, as they say?
Goddamn good booking. We need more chaos agents. Also he definitely has a deeper reading of the Yarvinverse than most and can shed light on the troggs therein.
Who is this guy? Audio listeners would really appreciate a guest introduction of some sort

Brace is kind of a dope.
And sounding like an over caffeinated Jonah Hill doesn't help his case.
Love Brace. Undoubtedly going to be a banger.
"I'm not an expert." No shit, you're a fucking commie.
Interesting, self-affirming listen. Funny, but dumb.
Nothing brings out full MM like a Marxist. Worth the full-year price by itself.

I dunno. 1B+ seems a little over the average.
Your friend is right: It IS run of the mill. And that confers MORE blame on Waltz, not less.

Asking “Are they totalitarian?” In reference to China is bat shit. Love Brace. He’s a complete moron, but great guest.
I’m getting things filtering in where the DSA-types are now trying to claim libertarianism.
And you get a completely blank stare when you follow up with a question about Friedman, Mises, or Hayek….
Related to this w/ the S. America stuff/.vz.
Some of the stuff that Milei has had the Argentine government release is absolutely disgusting. It does feed back to Chavez’s, Cuba, and Iran.
People like him always defend communism not through success but instead say “just imagine if it worked “
brace rules, and I love both trueanon and 5th column
Just some funny bros from across the political spectrum ripping on Curtis Yarvin?
It's a Christmas miracle!
