I think a LOT of people need some more "dance floor Fun Of It". If not touching grass, throw some ass.

Apropos of very little: In 2013 James Wolcott wrote a famous essay about the scandalous (as in audience cats calls, chaos, and fist fights) 1913 premiere performance of The Rite of Spring ballet in Paris. He titled it "Wild in the Seats", clearly a h/t to this 1968 film &/or the songs of the same name that came after it

Speaking of h/t's I believe that's Randolph Carter's "Maxwell House" (which tbh creeps me out but also lol)

And finally, there can never too many h/t's for the great Ethan Strauss❤️

“This is perhaps the most unusual motion picture you will ever see!” Is perhaps one of the more unusual and amusing soft sell pitches I’ve ever seen. Are we sure there weren’t LLMs writing copy back in the late 60s?

Why did older movies have "special guest stars?" If it's a movie, then they are IN the movie. It's not like a television show.

I didn’t want to not like Massie, but in the end he just went way too far to the crazy side for me. I hope that Rand Paul and Justin Amash don’t follow his lead.

If Justin Amash gets brainworms, I'm going to be so sad.

Loved the Matty Ygl interview, but I just couldn’t stop thinking about how good Moyn’s impression of him is.

RIP Rob Base. You will live forever in our high school memories. We danced and danced!

You have them change the live show graphic but don’t have them move the bar from your forearms?! 😂😂

Oh, and RIP Sonny Rollins. Passed away at 95. The man could play. If you have never heard Saxophone Colossus, check it out.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miles Davis, one of the musical geniuses of the 20th century. Kind of Blue is one of the greatest recordings of all time.
