I want to commend Matt on a fine fine day last Friday (Sorry for the Tony Carey nod there) on the Real Time show, glad to see they finally matched one of you guys up with normal guests on the panel instead of the usual drama queen ( I know you guys like that woman, I detest Her) performing for their base and blabbering nut jobs that they usually do, Bravo Sir on having a knowledgable Convo. I hope it brings more needed eyes on your programs. Even the Suderman one...
Thank you for the Maher clip. HBO seems to want to feed me very old stuff, and I have trouble seeing well-enough to find things.
The P'gon stuff is really a case of out-of-control force protection measures. Yes, it turbo-charged with Trump Deaux, but this is stuff that's been underway since the Navy Yard shooting in 2013. There was also a thing at NS Norfolk where somebody driving a truck got too close to ships; IIRC, he was a delivery guy for something or the other.
But the Pentagon is easier to secure, and so many things are in-house these days.
I'm one of those disabled people. Unfortunately, inflation caused by government spending is eating away what I was looking at as a somewhat-comfortable retirement. That said, as someone in his late-40s, what I had in tax-deferred accounts continues to blow up. AFAICT, I still can't convert those, so....
As I've told Matt and Reason before, the inflation isn't because of Iran. Yes, there's some small blurbs, but getting things from point-A to point-B still happen.
There was something I heard somewhere last couple of days about what Milei is doing to restrain spending in .ar. That's not going to happen here.
Unrelated -- I don't know that my brain would work sitting next to Tara; wow.
Since we're RIPing musicians, John Douglas of the Trashcan Sinatras also passed pretty suddenly last week just days after their first new album in 10 years came out.
Absolutely adored the Trashcan Sinatra's. What a great discovery Cake was way back when. Shimmering. Enjoyed my one time seeing them live around then. Sad to read this news.
