I would like to believe that my son-in-law (who is one of the funniest people I know) has contributed to the recent surge of the Babylon Bee. He has had 41 headlines published since he stated submitting them 2 years ago. One was retweeted by the White House (Cubans in Manhattan building rafts to escape Communism) and he has been featured in the NY Post twice.

Let’s reserve judgment until we better understand how this relationship impacts the reputation of each of the parties…

No idea what kind of heart attack Duncan Sheik had, but the classic widowmaker heart attack is without warning and really, more or less, without any prophylaxis other than the good fortune of having zero calcium buildup in your arteries. A cardiologist can't really do anything for you other than assess your risk.

A widowmaker happens when a piece of calcium from your arterial wall breaks off and clogs the left anterior descending coronary artery. It can happen at any time, and even occurs in people considered healthy (though I am personally skeptical of the health benefits of a lifetime of long distance running).

It happens to some percentage of folks, and there's basically nothing you can do about it.

But don't let it keep you up at night. Cue the Simpsons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9GpgSQZ4J4

Duncan Sheik was the mastermind songwriter behind the little-known and unfortunately very short-lived broadway musical version of American Psycho. I remember it well! It’s a defining moment for me in recent history, in production for only a couple of months in spring of 2016, the script dropping tongue-in-cheek references to our yet-to-be elected 45th president while the audience chuckled along blissfully unaware of our fate and still enjoying the preposterous notion of his election. It also indulged my love of 80s new wave, horror, and hot clean-cut guys in suits dancing on their desks while bragging about their business cards. 10/10, would recommend! (And though it’s no longer running, I still occasionally reminisce by blaring Duncan’s expert compositions in my car and singing along. Yes, I bought the soundtrack.)

The American Will Tanner shouldn't be confused with the British Will Tanner, who was advisor to Theresa May (who shouldn't be confused with Teresa May, the adult model who appeared in the video to Smack My Bitch up by the Prodigy). It took me a while when he popped up on twitter banging on about Rhodesia to realise two people shared the name.

I'm sure I've heard you (Matt) mention your great-great grandfather before--it rings a bell, anyway--but this little vignette made my eyebrows go up and down. Fascinating stuff, sir. Well done on your lineage. And an excellent hose this week. So to speak.

My daughter is a Fairfield Freshman and, while she doesn't yet know that she will be made to attend, will surely love this!

Was that the wrong "Table for Five" clip with Kmele? Obama wasn't mentioned.
