Y’all can pretend that was AI theme music all you want but we all know that was Casanova Brown making a come back

I think the official Fifth Column Memorial weekend beachread this year is Garden & Gun.

Trent Simpson's avatar

Garden & Gun will become the fifth column's unofficial sponsor.

Sounds like a pub with a shooting range in the back.

Every fiber of my being demands this be called Gun & Garden. I cannot be the only one.

It doesn't get said enough, but Gene Kelly had a great ass.

Yes! He was very athletic as a dancer. I’ve always thought he could have been a good short stop.

Is it wrong that sexualizing dead people is weird to me?

Benjy Shyovitz's avatar

Yes. Your aversion to corpse-fucking is offensive and problematic.

You’ve clearly never watched On The Town.

I feel like its okay if they've been chiselled into marble.

Eli's A.I. song is catchy and frightening, but the biggest surprise is that it's made me an anti-Semite.

Michelle's avatar

Eli’s theme song is going to result in some more fifth column babies

“Still wrong on Afghanistan” ha ha ha

Holy shit Brie really WAS that awful in the debate, huh?

I don’t know if this has been mentioned else where and I’m just blind, but The Free Press released the Dissident Dialogues debate between MM, Eli Lake and BJG on their Honestly podcast this morning.

i don't want to listen to it, because....i just can't stand gray. i had to mute her twitter acct because it kept getting retweeted into my feed & i find her so awful & obnoxious, & i don't know if i can take an hour of her making me grind my teeth.

i think i heard someone say the audience laughed at her at one point. is that true? maybe i can stick it out for that payoff....

snek's avatar

I think we did. I blacked out with rage through most of it.

Jon M.'s avatar

Yes, it is true, but it isn't worth the listen. Trust me...net-net the conversation will bring you more misery than joy.

mark propp's avatar

i assumed it would be something like that. i think i'll delete it off my podcast feed. i don't need the aggravation, lol.

if it was anyone else, i'd listen, but i just can't subject myself to 60 minutes of her.

I can't listen to debates like this in general. Debates where both sides are engaged and defending a topic can be a wonderful and illuminating experiencing. Debates where one or both sides are arguing in bad faith, that the other side is simply coming from a position of malevolence, are some of the most excruciating experiences you can have.

I cannot find it, I clicked every link in that paragraph and no avail, I went to Free Press site and its clearly right there without 75 other links that have nothing to do with the subject at hand (He linked back to the post where he deleted the link, so I went there for some reason... , why?)

Wow. BJG really is incapable of answering a question.

Bill Allen's avatar

Could have ended that sentence after “incapable”. How she got anywhere with that ten cent head and awful personality is fucking wild.

AW's avatar

I just finished listening to the Dissident Dialogues debate. Man MM wasn't having any of their BS😆. And did so without dragging the convo into the mud like BJG was trying to. She's delusional and out of her league.

Jon M.'s avatar

Agreed. I found myself not even getting angry with her antics...up to and including the fact that she refuses to describe Israel as an actual country. I just rolled my eyes. I think my lack of frustration stemmed from the fact that she exactly met my expectations; she was annoying but in precisely the way I expected her to be.

MM was outstanding -- but exactly in the above-the-fray kind of way I expected him to be.

Just finished listening debate about Israel Moynihan participated in. It was every bit the slugfest people said it was. Briana Joy Gray’s performance in it was telling. She couldn’t stick to the topic, and she chose to highlight human interest stories consistently, even when they were only tangentially relevant. Moreover, she went on long soliloquies, where determining the point was hard. I could, with the benefit of pausing and rewinding. I can’t fault Eli for being confused about what Briana was arguing. She is not a good debater on this issue.
