Daaaamnn Welch looking like a fucking boss on CNN!!! Love to see it!

Happy Father’s Day to Messrs. Foster, Moynihan, and Welch, without whom none of us would be here (in the Fifdom).

I’m sure their children appreciate them, too.

Matt is so amazing on CNN. My kids are calling you King Matt. Suck it, Kmele. (Jk)

Seriously tho, the firehose is the real MVP. It has gotten to the point where there is so much shit in it that it keeps me in pods and the like for the whole week. You should make a master list of these or give them their own section. Pound for pound the content champ of substack with only TGIF as a close second.

Oh, TGIF crushes me like a grape, but thanks.

The problem is, Nellie is maybe the most charming person in America.

Jesus ikr. I thought I would get tired of hearing her talk about her book everywhere, but nope. Adorable, full stop. Matt has his charms, but Nellie is like a curly haired super ball of charisma. :D

I have listened to so many Nellie interviews in the past month. But I’m happy to listen to more!

Well as a consumer of both, I love TGIF for Nellie's commentary and what not, but I almost never follow links off there since they are mostly just tweets and dumb shit from the news media. They got NOTHING on your content links. Plus I already get your commentary from the fif AND reason, so idk man, seems pretty clear to me. Tho I do now have her book... so maybe its a closer fight at this point? :D Maybe a Paul Molitor vs. Donny Baseball type comparison 😉

Crushes you like a grape into fine, Napa wine.🍷

Olivia is such a pretty girl. While she really does look great as a golden blonde, I think her despair is because she went too dark (darker than her natural base, for sure) and it lacks dimension. She still looks good, but I get it. Youth is a time for learning.

Happy Father's Day, fellas; you're all great dads in your own way. I'm pouring one out for the girls don't marry their dads because they *are* their dads (statistically, at least one of yours). My dad taught me how to read, how to cook, how to be, and I am just like him, for better or worse. I've never ever felt like less of a person in any way for being female, and I've never hesitated to say no to anything I didn't want to do. It is nice to have an A+ dad.

My birthday is today, but I was born on father's day. Between it, Juneteenth, and Garfield's birthday I have always come trailing behind celebration wise. I didn't know my dad all that well but I am a Junior, so I got that going for me, which is nice. Dad's are a good thing, nice to see a lady out there signing the praises even if the holiday is basically not a thing anymore :D

I do not believe that that is Matt. It is impossible.

Nothing about that is surprising at all!!! (Okay, the barely-there eyebrows are a bit much to accept.)

I'm pretty sure that's a picture of Jake Busey.

Or possibly Chris Pine in his wig from 'Bottle Shock'

Matt looks like Zombie Tom Petty with blonde hair.

Matt, thanks for the Bangles reference ya snuck in there and the reminder that we were all smoke shows in our early 20s.

I feel like we should have a TFC blond wig night on August 16th somewheres, for those arriving Friday. Weird? You bet. But fun!

So did Moynihan seal the deal or what? He was putting in some work.

I feel like my beloved Album 88 here in Atlanta ("the 50,000 blowtorch" of college radio until it was garroted by NPR, a horrible story for another day) was playing Radio Free Europe in 1982, even before Murmur was released.

I remember very distinctly turning on the car radio and hearing something like I'd never heard before. It was love at first listen. UGA grads of a certain age all seem to have a story of wandering into Athens GA's 40 Watt Club and being blown away by the still unknown Stipe & Co before the album's release, around the time of Chronic Town, their first EP.

As an owner of almost all of R.E.M.'s discography I have to say that Murmur still holds a very special place in my heart❤️

Hope you boys all had a most lovely Father’s Day.

That was an exceptionally good firehose walk-off. Particularly appropriate that it contains a BLOND ANGEL OF MELANIN, proving that Kmele should absolutely go blond with the rest of you. (Man, the MTV era gave us some incredible music videos.)

Also: the most recent episode was great, but I’m a bit sad that I didn’t detect any notable Matt-isms (like Yogi-isms, but with made up words). That’s really the main reason I listen. Do better, Matt.

Love Matt the hippie!

Surfer Babe Matt had enviable beach hair. Oh, to be nineteen and live in Southern California.

Of course, this means that Matt is the Blond Ambition of the pod (as if we didn’t already know).

If Matt doesn’t wear a don’t step on snake shirt during the live show(s) the listeners need to riot.

Nice work Matt. Love the podcast, but this last episode was Olivia was an exception—a disappointment. Bit cringe and meh, the belaboring of blonde-ness, the near-flirting, the not-much substance from the guest.

You probably agree that being a guest on this show is kind of difficult, especially when you’re in general agreement with the hosts - strangely enough. The three rarely stop talking. I’m not sure Olivia’s age, but she seems much younger than the hosts (sorry Kemellay). I think she did a good job, all things considered. And she’s beautiful, blonde or brunette.
