Is it any surprise that this most recent SOTU was two hours of sycophancy and the continuing death of civic dignity? We are joined by Senator Slotkin to talk about that and foreign policy.
Holy crap! The Danes deployed 20,000 troops in Afghanistan? In highly specific regional terms, that’s half the Canadian total with 1/6 the population—no small commitment.
There was a brief mention of the reinforcements from North Korea. When they arrived, there was some interesting about them interacting with, then getting absolutely massacred by drones.
Yes, it’s quaint reading reports of them seeing TV and video in their bunks, but it’s important to remember that these people are SLAVES.
What a disaster it’s going to be when the Kim dynasty collapses.
I’ve never listened to an interview with her before and I thought she was impressive here.
I don’t know much about her actual positions, but I hear Michigan Democrat though and immediately assume very pro-union and pro-tariff. While her position on tariffs in the interview isn’t great, it is better than the current policy.
I figured she was going to say "I'm familiar with intimidation, both legal and physical, from my time at the CIA and I don't like it being applied to me"
Just like Marco Rubio promised us industrial policy done right, based on this one senator, we can get tariffs done right if things work out. It’s a win-win world we live in!
Thanks, guys, for the attention to Hegseth's dystopian demands on Anthropic. I hope FIRE does step up.
I've been waiting for Sacks, Elon, and their ilk to use their positions with this admin to bring down the one AI company that didn't bend the knee and become a tool.
It's frustrating to see people out there this week, fogging and misconstruing the actual problems, although I expect a lot of it is intentional; I don't think many Americans would support large-scale spying on American citizens or fully autonomous lethal weaponry. A human needs to be in the loop to be responsible.

20000 throughout the operation - not all at once
Yeah, I know. Still a sizeable total.

Slotkin is great
She really is, and it was obvious from the time she entered politics.
I'm no longer working for any political party, but I'm still proud that I worked on her first Congressional campaign.
Can we get a presidential election between her and Rand Paul?
Like please.

She’s very impressive.
I really enjoyed the Senator's appearance.
Norwegian BLACK metal, Michael C Moynihan! Sweden was the death metal scene, and I can't let this mistake slide anymore.
Haha 😆

by far and away the best discussion of the BAFTA/Tourette's incident I've heard.
I read this as BATYA!/tourettes
Ha!!!
Obviously the Jamaican tour guide is a Never Fly Coach member who is aware of the running Welch/Walsh gag.
Nope
Moynihan as a 13 year old member of Death in June is the final straw
How Welch Got His Groove Back intro
Moynihan’s Paul Stanley moment is gold.
You know it's gonna be a banger when Moynihan starts with the Jamaican accent not two minutes in.
So Senator Cruz next week?
Would enjoy it.

Glad you guys could find a slot for Slotkin in this episode!

But. If it were spying on your political enemies…
