Workin’ for the Weekend #17: Kmele on Inflation, Eli Lake on Ye, Welch w/ Amash
This is frankly too much content.
Jeez, you skip a weekend for recreational purposes and the work just stack-a-lacks up! So let’s just show, not tell.
* Kmele went on the Lost Debate podcast Thursday with hosts Rikki Schlott and Ravi Gupta to talk inflation, crime, midterms, PayPal, and suchlike. Watch!
* SPEAKING of Kanye West, as we did on #377 & Members Only #137 & soon-to-be-released #138 (as well as on Megyn Kelly; more on that below), Fifdom superfave Eli Lake (#52, #65, #141, #174, Special Dispatch #51, #326, #368) went on a Reason joint w/ Nick Gillespie (SD72) + Natalie Dowzicky to talk about the problems with His Ye’ness last week:
* Get used to the YouTube clips. On Tuesday we did our monthly spot on The Megyn Kelly Show, including segments on Kim Kardashian’s ass, Biden’s Armageddon, Meghan Markle, “no voting no vucking,” the trouble with dudes, and Kim Kardashian’s ass again. Full appearance here:
* Re: the trouble with dudes, which was the subject of #376’s interview with Nicholas Eberstadt, I wrote a long, marooned-in-a-flight-delay Twitter thread Thursday night with fistfuls of recent (and historical!) related journalisms and media appearances, that I othewise won’t bother you with.
* For a change, it was me at a conference, and in Miami to boot, instead of Kmele. There, at Students for Liberty’s LibertyCon, I did two mainstage interviews. The second was with the outspoken former NBA player Enes Freedom, formerly Enes Kanter, about what happens to your career when you criticize China and LeBron James (hint: it ends). Since that’s not online in any obvious place, let’s put here the first interview, with former congressman (and #184 guest) Justin Amash:
* What else do you want? Me doing Stand Up with Pete Dominick? Video of my oldest child rapping the praises of “King Kmele” while an approving Livia Moynihan nods nervously? (Nope, Izi exercised her veto.) Oh, I got it: The Hooters, 33 years ago this month, using a reggae-ish version of an old folk song to do one of the first recorded rock/pop responses to Tiananmen Square & Tank Man. Believe it:
Matt's being modest: the best guest there was Jaye!
at approx 8hr 5m mark Matt’s interview with Enes Kanter Freedom. here’s the link https://youtu.be/XJ70aSRx-mk
