Workin’ for the Weekend #41: Mike’s Killer Speech, Triumph of the Timpf, Moynihan on Maher
Also: RFK cray
Usually I like to keep some breathing room between our latest episode and the weekend roundup, but WE GOT A TELEVISION EMERGENCY HERE, FOLKS—as you might have caught wind of on the show, Moynihan’s going on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher tonight at 10 p.m. ET. Please tune in, please clap, etc. Rumor has it that the top-o’-show interview will be with a cat named Elon Musk.
* Ol’ Hollywood has been getting around this week. Here he is Tuesday talking about Tucker Carlson with Megyn Kelly, who at some point in the proceedings misgenders our beloved old program The Independents as having been The Specialists, that short-lived Fox show with Eric Bolling, Eboni Williams, and Kat Timpf (#33, #97).
* Speaking of Timpfy, congrats on reaching #1 for hardcover nonfiction! You can get her You Can’t Joke About That: Why Everything is Funny, Nothing is Sacred, and We’re All in This Together and find out about upcoming shows at this link. She’ll also be doing a collab w/ Maher this Sunday.
* Y’all wanted that Killer Mike FIRE-speech vid we gushed about in #403, yeah? Well here it is in all its glory:
* Our pal Nico Perrino also got Mike onto FIRE’s So to Speak podcast.
* Re: #404—this was indeed our third rodeo w/ Ben Smith (#125, #227), and this afternoon over at Reason I published “The Very Strange New Respect for Authoritarian Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
* Comment of the Week comes from Brad:
Welches that dress better:
1. Raquel (1960s-70s era)
2. Florence
3. Jack
4. Gillian
5. A glass of grape juice
6. Raquel (present day)
7. Bob

Outro music (care of the Remember the Lightning Substack) will double-dip from our old dead friend Keith Brown, and his newly re-released Popsicko music from 1994:
I sent my entire family (so like thirty Hondurans) the Killer Mike speech.
Moynihan's turn on Bill Maher was excellent! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCg2dFF5rKw
